Hello friends, followers and waltzers! You've heard of the Bunny Hop, well today is the Bunny Waltz in honor of Waltzingmouse Stamps' April Blog Waltz. Please forgive the delayed posting, I have been playing with ideas in my head all month, trying to come up with something really spectacular to honor Claire and her fabby stamps and nothing seemed good enough. Then, starting last Tuesday my back has been worse than it has been in a long time so I have been trying to rest it and that left me in the unfortunate position of creating something last minute, which I despise doing because for me pressure does not result in my best work. Ramblings aside, here is my card:
This month's waltz theme was 'Easter' and the only WMS set I have that has Easter themed stamps is Claire's adorable "Lil Buddies". I stamped the bunny twice, on the white background and then again on Creamy Caramel cardstock which was cut out and flocked with Caramel Latte Fun Flock and adhered to the white base. I also flocked his fluffy tail with cotton ball white Fun Flock as well. I could have sworn I had Martha Stewart's grass punch but could not find it anywhere without lots of bending and my back finally insisted that I give up and create grass of my own for its sake, so I took two strips of green cardstock and notched them with a scissors and pulled up a few random pieces by hand for dimension. I decided to use the butterfly from the set to hold the 'Hoppy Easter' sentiment in the banner which I curled with my fingers and popped the middle section up with a thick dimensional to try to give it a wavy effect. I colored in the butterfly with Fruit Punch Stickles for a little sparkle.
That's about it - thank you for visiting my card on this waltz, but please do not feel pressured to leave a comment on this one; even my husband told me 'it isn't your best work' as the smile disappeared from his face when he looked at it. I guess the fact I am not feeling well is effecting my creativity and/or execution today. Please forgive me Claire, perhaps it is better not to participate at all in the future if I can't honor your stamps as you deserve? I hope everyone is feeling well and has a happy Sunday. I apologize for wasting your time and will try hard to do better in the future.

Hey, whaddaya mean, I think it's cute! And I love the way you added dimension with that pennant--I would never have thought of that! We can all get inspiration from each person's work--you may never know how you influenced someone.
Your card is really cute :) Hope your back is feeling better!
Shaz x
Oh Meredith, I think it's so sweet! What do husbands know about stamping anyways? Hee! I love the the little grass strips and the sparkly butterfly (fruit punch, mmmm)! This bunny card put a smile on my face...and I hope you are feeling better soooon!
Oh, and I just realized he's flocked, soooo fun!
that is a sweet card and I do hope your back gets to feeling better soon.
Meredith, this is just adorable!! The flocking on the rabbit is so smart! Love it!
Awe so sweet! Love the little bunny and the Easter greetings banner!
Blah, blah, blah!! That's all that I read after I saw the cute card. While YOU feel that it's not your best the rest of us think it's cute, sweet, and adorable.
So sorry that your back is not treating you nicely!!! Get more rest and hope you feel better in an instant!!! Happy Easter! blah, blah, blah...I mean Hoppy Easter!!!!
What???? are you kidding??!!! don't you realise that we appreciate you joining us all the more because of the pain and discomfort you are in!!!! Well I don't know about you, but I would far rather receive this little hand flocked, happy bunny with his fruit punch butterfly buddy than any store bought card!! I am so glad you joined us, I truly appreciate the effort you took. I just wish your back would ease up a little!! Hugs to you!!
So cute, I love the flocked bunny
Meredith!!! This is ADORABLE! You are way too hard on yourself. My husbands says that all my cards (with flowers) look like owls, just to tease. He thinks this crafty thing is all very cult-ish and just doesn't get it. I love your card, and how you have the butterfly pulling the banner. The sentiment is perfect!
I agree with all of the prior comments, Meredith, you never know who you are influencing, even if YOU think it's not your best work. I think your card is adorable and shows true resourcefulness..i.e. subbing for the MS punch. The flocking is perfect and the design is awesome.
...So, you wanna go eat food? You know, the code {wink, wink} ;)
Have a great Sunday and I hope your back feels better soon!
I hope you feel better soon, Meredith, and I adore this wee flocked bunny! That butterfly "holding" the banner is clever, too!
Sweet card.. love the grass!
Sweet card. Love it, especially the flocked bunny. And the way that the butterfly is sitting on the sentiment.
Your card is sweet, and I wouldn't have been clever enough to thing of a butterfly carrying the banner!! And we all hope you are feeling better soon! (Of course you couldn't find that grass punch: you'll probably locate tomorrow now that you are done with your card and have it posted:-)
First of all, I hope your back is getting better soon and you will feel well again. Then up to your card - I love how creative you made the grass and how the butterfly carries the quote.
Happy Easter!
It is a very cute card!
Hope you feel better soon...
Stunning design and gorgeous card.
