Welcome back for the third and last day of sneak peeks for the May release for Newton's Nook Designs. Today Jen's sharing a mini set perfect for all kinds of occasions, from birthdays to anniversaries to New Years celebrations, even for pocket pages of visiting wineries or going wine tasting! Introducing: ' Years for Cheers':
First I decide to make a card for my hubby for our next anniversary:
(my hubby prefers simple elegant cards so I didn't embellish beyond this, even though inside I was screaming to add glitter and rhinestones, LOL! I hoe the little silver bow from Michaels $1 bin wasn't too much for a man!).
I have a confession - as hard as I try, I usually end up having a few holiday cards that just don't make it to the mail in time - we are a military family and we move a lot, our friends move a lot, and trying to keep up with all the address changes can be daunting. So I always make a few 'Happy New Years!' cards for folks whose addresses I don't learn of in time. This set is perfect for that:
Since this one wasn't for hubby I decide to go a little flirty with pink and gold accents. I sliced up some strips from this cool golf foil vellum from a DCWV stack that I LOVE and tacked it down onto some Blushing Bride cardstock (looks like embossing, doesn't it?) and stamped the numbers individually and punched them with a 1/2" punch (they fit perfectly!) and matted them in black with a 3/4" punch. So, one down, a few more to go... the trick now is not to misplace it before December so I will have it when I need it (though I could always pop off the '6' and add a '7' in its place for the following year if I had to, right?). So, which care was your favorite?

Love both cards! Making a New Year's card is such a great idea! I tend to forget to make cards for this holiday since Christmas card-making is so demanding. But that's a good idea to make a few throughout the year. TFS!
The pink and gold showcased nicely!
Both cards are very beautiful, especially the first, I'm sure your husband is going to love it!

Beautiful cards and creative use of the stamps!
Love the color choices.
Black and white is always a show-stopper. The pink and black work well together also.

Wonderful cards...I like how you used the line image for each of your cards.
Both great cards. Love the pink and gold together. And yes they do look like embossed chevrons.

Very elegant cards, the first one is gorgeous, and I am just drooling over the colors you chose for the second one, pink and gold combo is excellent!

This is great! The first card is so elegant and I LOVE the idea of doing a new years card! I often say I should send new years cards because my christmas ones are late - LOL!
