Hello friends & followers! Today I wanted to play along with the new Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook Designs - Go Green! Here is the cool inspiration photo:
I was inspired by the little paw prints at the bottom and the gradient/ombre color of the cake to do a little emboss resist with some white embossing powder and sponging on three different shades of green over it on glossy cardstock.
If you've never tried emboss resist technique it is really easy and quite fun as well! I do think the gable green, the lightest ink shade that I sponged over the embossed paw prints, was kind of overpowered by the darker green galore and glorious green I also sponged. The solid & outline paw prints I used for the background are from Newton's Antics and little Newton in his green scarf, colored with Copic markers, is from Newton's Holiday Mischief. The felt-foil-rhinestone Poinsettia accents are by Jolee's that I purchased as Christmas Clearance at Marshalls.
I hope you will play along with the Inky Paws Challenge, because if there are 15 or more participants Jennifer is going to select TWO folks to win $10 store credits - isn't that generous?!! And since the deadline isn't until March 15th you have plenty of time to play along! Stop by the NND blog for the details and some freebie images you can use if you don't own any NND stamps yet. Hope you will join us! Thanks for stopping by!
