Good morning my friends & followers! We have another fun digi challenge for you courtesy of Sweet 'n Sassy stamps - Flag - You're It! A lot of my fellow teamies created beautiful banners and pennants for the challenge, so make sure you stop by their blogs to see their lovely creations, but with my limited supplies I too a literal approach using the Rhubarb and Birdie digi image.
Where's the birdie you might be wondering? Well, sorry my little feathered friend - but I colored Rhubarb bear with my Bic Mark Its (my Copics are packed up and beginning to get jealous), cut him out, attached him to a white cardstock base, then used a craft knife to cut small slits above and below his little clenched paw and wove one of those American flag toothpick cupcake toppers in there so it looks like he is holding the flag - cool effect huh?
We hope you will play along with our challenge - SNSS digis are not required (though we do love seeing them, and you might end up in the SNSS Spotlight and snag yourself a Guest DT spot if you do!) and every card you enter during the month of July puts you in the running for 3 SNSS digis of your choice! SNSS is also giving away 3 digis when the SNSDC reaches 100 'likes' on their Facebook page - so be sure to check that out too.
This card also fulfills the requirements of the following additional challenges:
- Unique Crafter's Challenge 5 - Patriotic,
- Celebrate the Occasion Challenge 72 - Star Struck (you needed to have at least 3 stars on your project; there are a punch at the bottom thanks to the Martha Stewart 'Seeing Stars' border punch, not to mention the 50 on the tiny flag, one for each state!),
- Paperplay Challenge Week 30 - Sports/Olympic Theme (everyone wants to see their country's flag in the winner's circle!),
- Outlawz CAS Sunday Challenge - Summertime (a card representing a summer holiday - both Flag Day and Independence Day fall during the summer right?),
- Card Crafter's Circle Challenge 33 - CAS,
- Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 149 - CAS,
- The Cheerful Stamp Pad Challenge 48 - Gimme Five! (show appendages in your card),
- Stamp and Create July Challenge - Hands Full of Love (Rhubarb is holding an American Flag),
- Truly Madly Crafty July Challenge - Animals, and
- Our Craft Lounge Challenge 127 - Inspiration Photo:
(I even use the same little toothpick flag sticking out of the pickle in the french fry boat - EEEEE!) Have a great weekend my friends!!

Hello Friends & Followers! It is that fun time of the month again, when Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps releases some new digi images and you can hop along with us for a chance to win them all! SNSDC63 has a Christmas in July theme to go along with the release of Christmas themed digis (psst - three new clear sets were released for a limited time too! Check them out at the SNSS Store, there are sales and all kinds of freebies too so check it out!). Here is my card using Santa Owl as the main image and a reduced tiny Pippin's Christmas Lights in the background:
(Holiday card count - 8, man, that is pitiful for me for July!) Man I can't wait until we can move in and finally unpack all my craft supplies! The cute owl was colored with Bic Mark It's and the sentiment was just typed on my computer in a bolded Comic Sans font. I hope you will get to play along with this week's challenge - you don't need SNSS digis (though we certainly love to see them), any digi will do, and every card you enter during the month of July puts you in the running for a chance to win 3 SNSS digi images of your choice!
Here are the other DT gals hopping along today - make sure you leave them all some love, you just never know which one might be the mystery blog whose random comment wins the entire digi release! GOOD LUCK & Happy Holiday Hoppin'!
Hello Friends & Followers! I hope you are having a wonderful July! For today's Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge is to make a 'Fun Fold' card - a card with something other than one traditional fold. I found this great tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.com for a Double Dutch Fold Card and used SNSS' adorable You & Me digi set (which is also available as a clear set if you prefer) to make this card:
I had to keep it simple as the majority of my stamping supplies are going to remain packed until well into August, but I thought the whimsical paired items in this set fit this fold quite well. And for those of you who are intimidated by 'fancier' fold cards - this one is EASY! - two pieces of papers scored a few times and put together and VOILA! We hope you will play along with us - although we certainly love to see SNSS digi images any digi will do, and for the month of July every card you enter puts you in a drawing to win 3 SNSS digi images of your choice!
This card also fulfills the requirements of the following additional challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to see my creations! Have a great day!

Hello Friends & Followers! I am not even close to settled but I missed playing in the Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenges so I purchased some things at the local Hobby Lobby so I could play along this week. This week's challenge is the theme 'Sun & Sand' so I colored Cocoa & Cookie's Sandcastle Digi Image up with my Bic Mark-Its (they are good in a pinch, but I still prefer my Copics), cut it out with a circle Nestabilities die and added it to one of the clear fill-it-yourself- ornaments with some sand and holographic glitter with the pretty little stars in it along with a few shells to create this beach-themed ornament:
(Sorry, my photo cube is packed up and buried somewhere - I had to improvise). You know how you imagine something in your head and it looks perfect - and then you go to make it... yeah... that is what happened here. I didn't think the sand and glitter would stick to the inside of the ornament, making the image more difficult to see, and shaking it to try to get the shells in more photogenic positions just made it worse. And the image kept shifting and I had to dig it out with tweezers, LOL, I think the next time I try one of these I will use that shred instead - like they use in gift baskets? This creation also satisfies the requirements for the following additional challenges as well:
I hope you will play along with our Sweet 'n Sassy 'Sun & Sand' Digi Challenge - any digi will do! Be sure to stop by the blog and see what my other teamies created for the challenge as well. Don't forget - every card you make during the month of July is an entry to win 3 SNSS digis of your choice, so enter often to increase your chances to win!
Have a great weekend everyone!
