Good morning! Today I am featured on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! I decide to make another card for a dear friend's sweet Mom who is recovering from surgery using Newton's Sick Day since she likes kitties:
I chose the bandaged up Newton kitty and some patterned paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug's 'Frisky' line to make this card:
I colored Newton's with my Copic markers to make the darker grey kitty in the middle of the kitty border at the bottom and loved how the Kiwi Kiss cardstock (LOVE that color!) matched one of the other kitties as well. I hope she likes it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!

Newton's Nook Designs' Inky Paws Challenge #23 ` Summer Lovin'
Hello Everyone! Today a new Inky Paws Challenge begins at Newton's Nook Designs! The new theme is 'Summer Lovin''. I decide to use some fun popsicle images from the new Summer Scoops set along with an accessory & sentiment from Newton's Summer Vacation to create this fun summer card:
I colored the popsicles to match this fun popsicles paper from Echo Park's Fruit Stand 6x6 pad. I took the 'You're a cool cat' sentiment from Newton's Summer Vacation and used a marker to just ink up the 'you're' and 'cool' and stamped it on Crushed Curry cardstock and punched it with a 1 1/4" circle punch matted with an orange 1 3/8" circle to resemble the sun. Then I thought it would be fun if the orange creamsicle were wearing shades, so I stamped the sunglasses image from the same set on Baja Breeze cardstock, colored in the lenses with a black marker, cut them out and paper pieced them onto the creamsicle.
So what is your favorite ice cream treat? Mine is those Strawberry Shortcake bars? With the crunchies on the outside and that yummy strawberry center in the middle? That was always my treat of choice when the ice cream man visited our neighborhood as a child.
Are you ready to get your paws inky with us and play along to win a prize? The Challenge winner will receive a $10 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs' online store and an Inky Paws Challenge Top Pick Badge to add to your blog! AND IF there are more than 15 participants, Jen will choose TWO winners, so be sure to tell your friends to play along too! Please visit the Newton's Nook Designs' blog for all the details!
Can't wait to see what YOU create! Have a happy Friday!

I know I am so happy for Jen, Jeff, Newton & Hobbes. Not only is Jen wicked talented and the creator of fun images and now DIES for us to create with, but they are all wonderful people as well. It has been such an honor as well as a pleasure to design for such a fabulous company with terrific people behind it -- thank you so much for this opportunity! I am humbled...
In honor of NND's TWO YEAR (WOOT!) anniversary, I thought it would be fun to include small images from many of Jen's other adorable sets in my hop cards.
In honor of NND's TWO YEAR (WOOT!) anniversary, I thought it would be fun to include small images from many of Jen's other adorable sets in my hop cards.
When I first saw Newton's Naptime, one thing instantly came to mind - The Snuggles Project. It is a charitable organization that contacts shelters around the globe (yes, it is worldwide) and asks if they would be interested in receiving handmade blankets for their shelter pets until they are adopted, as some of them have never felt the touch of something soft under their paws, to help provide them with a greater sense of safety and security and comfort, which will increase their chances of adoption as well. If you are interested, you can read more about the Snuggles Project HERE. As my NND bio mentions, I enjoy knitting and crocheting, making blankets for animals in shelters helps combine my love of animals and adoption advocacy with my enjoyment with playing with yarn - win-win!! So when I saw Newton sleeping peaceful on top of that stack of blankets... I just HAD to use it to create a card to give to the shelter volunteers when I drop off the blankets I've made:
When I first saw the Message in a Bottle dies I was psyched because they are SO VERSATILE! You could use them to show off all kinds of images! To demonstrate I created another card for you:
I used three additional NND sets in addition to the new Message in a Bottle to create this card: the rose is from Love Grows, the long stem is from Easter Scramble (you easily could have used the cracked egg tulips for this card as well!), and the 'thinking of you' sentiment came from Versatile Vases (could easily use the flowers in that set for this card too!). Frist I stamped the flowers and leaf (some masking occurred) and colored them in using Copic markers (four different shades of red were used). The bottle was die cut from vellum cardstock and then stamped; I colored in part of the image with a light blue markers to create the appearance of water.
So, which of my 2nd year anniversary cards do you prefer? Are you a crocheter or knitter as well as a papercrafter too? How would you like to WIN a credit to NND to pick up some die & stampy goodness of your own?!!
Celebrate with us and enter to win!

Newton's Nook Designs' July Release ~ Final Day
Welcome back for the third and final day of Newton's Nook Designs' July Release! Jen created a cool nautical set, complete with Purr-fect DIES, allow me to introduce 'Message in a Bottle' (Tell me I am not the only one with that song by The Police playing over and over in my head now please?) :
And you just KNOW those bottle shaped dies can be used for hundreds of different images too as well, right? Fill 'em up with anything! I found this cool map patterned paper which inspired me to make a masculine card using the ship & scroll images:
At first it felt weird not coloring the objects in, but upon reconsideration, I like the simplicity of this card (as will most of the men in my life who could be the recipients!) What do you think?
Would you like to win 'Message in a Bottle' stamp set?
This set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!!Here's how to win:

Newton's Nook Designs' July Release ~ Day 2
Welcome back for day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs' July release. Today Jen is debuting a set that is sure to make your mouths water, introducing 'Summer Scoops:
Aren't these just the sweetest cool treats?!! That old fashioned sugar cone with jimmies (that is what we call 'sprinkles' in Bahstin - anyone else here call them 'jimmies'?) caught my eye, so I HAD to feature it on my card:
After making my card I totally had a craving for a lemon sherbet cone with chocolate jimmies on it! I thought this patterned paper by Colorbok was a perfect match for this image. I added some iridescent glitter glue to the punched out cloud accents near the sentiment flag, not sure that shows up well in the photo though. I can totally see myself using this set over and over for birthday cards for my little nieces (and fellow ice cream lovers!)

Shark Week - Day 3
(NOTE - since Shark Bites is ALREADY sold out, Jen is offering an alternate sale, please visit the NND blog for details.)
Hello! Today is it Larissa's & my turn to show off Newton Nook Designs' newest set -- Shark Bites:
(Am I the only one who had a flashback to Finding Nemo's 'Fish are Friends - not Food!' sharks' meeting? LOL!) I decided to use two sharky images to make it look like they were having a casual conversation with speech bubbles created with my EK SUccess punch:
I decided to stamp the shark images on grey cardstock and then paper piece the white bellies onto them. Can I just say, it is TRICKY trying to cut around those jagged teeth! LOL! The designer paper is from Creative Memories watercolor collection, and it looks like it has been watercolored IRL even though that effect might be lost in this picture. The waves up top were created with a Fiskars punch as well.
Well, I hope you like my card, I will say it is the first one I can recall using sharks on, LOL!! Don't forget to check out Larissa's blog too - I am sure she has created something spectacular for you to see as well!
