Welcome to the third & final day of Newton's Nook Designs' April reveals. Today we are showing off my favorite set this release - 'Wild Child':
Being the huge animal lover that I am, I think all the Mother & baby animals pairs are simply darling - perfect for Mother's Day cards, new baby cards, gifts & announcements, and scrapbooking memories of trips to the zoo. I decided to show off the tiger for my sneak peek (and some homemade enamel dots I made recently - will be posting a tutorial and lots of pics on that later next week - stay tuned!! Don't they look like real enamel dots?!! And now that I can make them myself I can use them more and no longer need to hoard them! YAAY!):
I just love this tiger family. And for those of you who have DCWV's 'Animal Crackers' stack - the little silhouette leaf image from Jennifer's set coordinates with the patterned leaf papers in this stack perfectly - I used some in orange on this card - see?

Welcome to Day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs' April Release. Today we are revealing 'Versatile Vases' - a fun floral set.
The 'best buds' sentiment spoke to me and made me think it would be perfect to use for a small 3"x 4" journal card to use in a pocket page album:
I am the red-yellow-white vase & flower and one of my besties, whose favorite colors are purples & blues - is the flirtier vase on the right.

Welcome to the first day of Newton's Nook Designs' sneak peeks for April and we begin today featuring a pretty floral set just in time for Mother's day - Love Grows:
I think the roses are just lovely - don't you? I stamped them in a very of colors that mimic my favorite colored roses for a CAS Mother's Day card:
I like the way it looks with all the outlines in different colors overlapping like that.

Hello Friends & Followers! I hope you have had a good weekend! Those of you who follow my blog know I tend not to use watercolors much, but when I saw Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge 158 to stamp with watercolor mediums I broke out my watercolor crayons, Out on a Limb- Revised & Out on a Limb Sentiments sets and gave it a whirl with this sympathy card:
I used watercolor crayons in chocolate chip for the branch and pale plum & perfect plum for the blooms but I think I used a little too much water in my watercolor brush and washed them out a bit too much, they have a pretty soft quality IRL, but they are a little difficult to even see in this picture. I really like how this came out though, I think I am going to make a bunch more, perhaps in other colors, so that I have them on hand in the unfortunate event they are needed as sympathy cards can be difficult to make on the spot if you know what I mean.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week!~ Crafty Math Chick
Hello my Friends & Followers! Today I have another creation for you from Newton's Nook Designs! I used the current Inky Paws Challenge Sketch #8
and Newton's Antics to create this card:
I used some sweater themed patterned paper in the background and colored Newton kitty to match with Copic markers (E42 and W00 I believe). I thought this swirly loop punch I have from Martha Stewart matched the knitted pattern in the background nicely and wove some coordinating embroidery floss in and out of the loops for some fibers to match Newton's 'ball of yarn' - which was simply the stamped yarn ball that I punched with a circle punch and then added the 'knitting needle' pins and wrapped more embroidery floss around and around and around... I masked Newton so I could make it look like he was holding the end of the yarn as he took a cat nap.
Hope you will be able to play along with our Inky Paws Challenge and the Curtain Call Baby Booties Inspiration Challenge - you could win a gift certificate to Newton's Nook Designs in each one! Newton's Nook Designs images are required for the Inky Paws challenge, but Jennifer generously provided some freebies on the NND Blog that you can use so you can still participate even if you haven't had the opportunity to snag any of her adorable sets yet.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you will play along with us!~ Crafty Math Chick
