Newton's Nook Designs February Release ~ Day 1

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the first day of Newton Nook Designs' February Release.  Today's set is perfect not only for Valentine's Day, but for Anniversaries and any time you want to share a little love, introducing 'Bunny Hop':

Who doesn't think bunny butts are adorable?!!  So I of course chose this image for my card:

I created a larger bunny for the Newton bunny to snuggle with using shapes from circle punches and gave him a sparkly pom pom tail and added some sparkly flock to Newton bunny's tail with a quickie glue pen.

Since this card features two widdle bunnies I am also entering it into Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: 'all creatures great and small' (did you know that Simon Says Stamps carries NND?  Cool huh?)

For our neighbor with Newton's Nook Designs

Hello everyone!  Today it is my turn to make something crafty for the Newton's Nook Designs Blog, so I decided to use Newton's Holiday Mischief:

To make a card for our neighbors, who owns a pretty grey kitty:

I created the door by dry embossing some pieces of kraft cardstock with a woodgrain pattern and then sponging some Crumb Cake ink around the edges to add some additional depth & texture and added a big brad as the doorknob.  Cutting Newton (here Newton is dressed as 'Nigel' kitty, who is grey) out was a bit tricky, but once that was accomplished I hung his wreath from the door using a smaller brad and thought since his tail was curling that would be a cut way to attach the sentiment dangling by some sparkly twine as a sign with the sentiment stamped & punched out with a word window punch.  I hope they will like it!  They don't know I stamp.  A lot of folks find out this about me at Christmas, LOL!

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #15

Hello everyone!  Time for another fun Inky Paws Challenge by Newton's Nook Designs!  For this challenge, Jen wants to see your Newton's Nook Creations SPARKLE!

I decide to go with a halloween theme before the holiday arrives and is gone before we know it.  

I knew I wanted to use the cute ghost kitty image from Boo Crew. So I stamped him and added a little creamy orange and light pink to his paws, tail & ears.  To make him stand out I created a bat shape using a circle punch for the body and a smaller oval punch for the wings.  I cut a banner from some orange pre-glittered paper from an older 4" x 12" stack by Martha Stewart Crafts (seriously, I think I purchased it in 2010, at the latest!) and finally got to use some of my neon amber Zing! embossing powder that I found at a Tuesday Morning last year (Score!) for the sentiments.  Finally I attached a few shiny black bat sequins that I got from Michaels last year during Halloween clearance.  TA DA!  Card complete!

Sunny Days

Hello again!  I am back with another card I made for the VSN challenges, this one by Jen to make a card using sunny colors.  Can't get much sunnier than yellow so I borrowed the sketch from Sketch & Stash Challenge 82 and 'Bee Happy' by There She Goes Clear Stamps and some Echo Park patterned paper from their Walk in the Park collection and created this card:

I just love this happy, smiling bee.  I created a short paper pierced flight trail for him and created his hive using Stampin' Up!'s word window punch chomped down a bit, sponged with Summer Sun ink, and stacked thusly.  The ribbon was a freebie thank you gift from The Cat's Pajama's - isn't it perfect for this card?  This card also fulfills the requirements of the following challenges:

• Fab 'n Funky Challenge 111 - Mellow Yellow,
• Colour Create Challenge 91 - yellow, grey, black and white (I added a wee touch of grey to the bee's wings and added some shimmer with a Atyou Copic Spice pen, does it show in the photo?),
• The Pink Elephant Challenge 138 - Let's See those Layers, and
• Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes.

More Hope You Can Cling To Cards

Hello friends and followers!  Today I have three cards for your viewing pleasure, all for the Hope You Can Cling To (HYCCT) card drive for the patients at the UT MD Andersen Cancer Center and their families to use during their stay.  The first is based on Skipping Stones Design Sketch 98 using their Chic Martini set:

(You can tell that the big olive circle and the small olive circle are supposed to create a great big olive, eight?).  I found this cool DP from the Paper Studio's Birthday Extravaganza Mat stack from Hobby Lobby and thought all those different sized circles went well with the two forming the olive, and added some Offray ribbons to hold the sentiment highlighted with a few petite rhinestones.  This card also fulfills the following additional challenges:
HYCCT1121 - Big or Small Save 'Em All (use two sizes of any geometric shape, I obviously chose circles), and
Wee Memories Challenge 73 - Free for All (anything goes).
My next card was created using a Stamp TV Release Party sketch by Theresa Momber and Holly's HYCCT Challenge to make a supportive card featuring the color purple.  Here is what I came up with using Gina K. Designs' Many Wishes set and a Kaleidoscope spectrum ink pad:

(This picture really does not do this justice - there are lots of rich purple and lilac hues in this card, for some reason the photo washes them out, it is much more vibrant in real life).  The flowers are velvet from an old Stampin' Up! kit with black brad in the center.  This card also fulfills the following additional challenges:

• Paperworks Friday Recipe #20 - You Float My Boat - Use an image that floats (the dandelion seeds here are floating through the air), ribbon (check) and brads or eyelets (I have just the one in the center of the velvet flowers),and
• One Stop Craft Challenge Week 154 - No Designer Paper.

My last card was created for another Stamp TV Release Party Challenge to use Pink in a card with Gina K. Design stamps and I decided to combine it with the HYCCT Challenge to create a collage card to create this card:

Personally, I am not a fan of collage style cards, it just is not my taste, but since beauty is in the eye of the beholder I am hoping that one of the patients at the hospital or a family member will like this card and it will make them smile.  I used a lot of different GKD stamp sets to create this card: Little Tees, Many Wishes, Timeless Textures, and You Are Not Alone and various shades of pink and tan ink.  In addition this card fulfills the following additional challenges:

• Simon Says Stamp and Show - One Color (! obviously went with pink), 
• Creative Inspirations Challenge 134 - Monochromatic, and
• One Stop Craft Challenge Week 154 - No Designer Paper.
